Whole House Fans
Whole house fans are an excellent way to lower your energy bill by cooling your home more efficiently. They work by pulling cooler outside air in through your windows and pushing warm air out through your attic vents. Our installations are all inclusive, you just choose which option you want and we provide all labor and materials, including the fan itself. We currently recommend the following fans:
Standard fan for homes under 2400 sqft
Master Flow 6000 CFM* Belt driven, 30″ fan
Installation is typically $900 to $1200, including the fan
Upgraded fan for homes under 2400 sqft
Dayton 6510 CFM* belt driven, 30″ fan
Installation is typically $1200 to $1500, including the fan
This model has 6 blades, compared to 4 in our standard unit, which makes it much quieter. It also comes with a 12 hour timer, plus high and low speed control. Our standard fan comes with high/low controls but no timer.
36″ Fan for homes over 2400 sqft
Dayton 10,820 CFM* belt driven, 36″ fan
Installation is typically $1500 to $1800, including the fan
These prices do NOT reflect the rebate that may be offered by your electricity provider. Currently SMUD and PG&E both offer a $100 mail-in rebate for installing these fans. Please check with them for current rebates, as these are subject to change.
*CFM stands for cubic feet per minute. The larger the home, the higher the CFM needs to be to efficiently cool the home.
